The D3O® half-pad by LAO is designed for saddles that are already perfectly fitted to the horse. The D3O® correction half-pad suits saddles that need adjusting, with a shim system to correct saddle balance.
Is the half-pad suitable for all disciplines?

The LAO half-pad is available in a standard size, suitable for saddles ranging from 16.5 to 18 inches.
What is D3O® technology?
D3O® is a smart material built into the half-pad: when at rest, it remains flexible and naturally conforms to the horse’s back. Upon impact, it absorbs and disperses the energy of the shock, then instantly returns to its original flexibility. This reaction protects the horse’s back from pressure points and microtrauma caused by the rider’s weight, while remaining lightweight and allowing the horse to move naturally.
How do you care for the half-pad?
Caring for the LAO D3O® half-pad: it is machine washable at 30°C. Avoid using a tumble dryer, ironing, dry cleaning, and bleach, as these could damage the fabric and the built-in D3O® technology. By following these precautions, your pad will remain fully effective over time.
What are the delivery times?
Delivery time depends on the shipping method selected and the destination country. If the half-pad is in stock, delivery takes 48 hours.

Yes, our half-pads do not contain memory foam and do not lose their shape with use; they can be transferred from one horse to another without any issues. In addition, their ergonomic design — based on measurements taken from over 100 horses — allows them to accommodate the vast majority of conformations within this size range. The version with shims also offers fine-tuning to rebalance the saddle according to the shape of your horse's back.
